Supporting local playwrights by presenting staged readings to develop new works, Paper Lantern Theatre Company is proud to present its New Play Reading Series.
FREE and open to the public, we encourage you to become part of the creative development process. The Readings are followed by a Q&A session with the playwrights and refreshments for your enjoyment.
Our next new play reading:
Paper Lantern Theatre Company was honored earlier this year to be asked to produce the world premier of Daniel Rover Singer’s new play A PERFECT LIKENESS: Carroll Photographs Dickens. This production will take place in lieu of our New Play Reading Series for the Spring.
This one act play tells the story of a humorous and often touching fictional meeting between the two legendary authors, while Carroll attempts to take Dickens portrait. Sponsored by the Lewis Carroll Society of North America (LCSNA), the show will be held in conjunction with the LCSNA Spring Meeting in Winston Salem.
Daniel Rover Singer is best known for his work, The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged. Mr. Singer will be closely involved with the production of this premier, will attend the opening and be available for a Q&A with our audience.
The show will be directed by John Gulley and will star local equity actors Michael Kamtman and Ben Baker.
Tickets will be available online soon! Be sure to join our mailing list to stay informed.
